Rare agricultural video archive for sale at Elgin Auction Centre

Aberdeen & Northern Marts will have forward 400 entries of wood-working tools, fish and field sports and rural antiques at the Elgin Auction Centre next week on Wednesday 24th April 2019.
The auction will feature a rare collection of 22 digitised video clips from the early 1900s showcasing different elements of Scotland’s rural and agricultural heritage, previously broadcasted internationally, including the recent BBC Landward programme.
Spanning over 5 hours and 21 minutes, the award-winning archive showcases Clydesdale horse history and their role in agriculture, seed sowing 1940s-style using the fiddle, typical rural school circa 1950s, and the start of the harvest 1960s-style, among many other videos of Scottish rural life.
The digital archive is being sold by Dr Don Carney of Carney Heritage Production Limited and was filmed in the North East of Scotland. The successful bidder will obtain copyrights to the original video clips.
The sale commences at 5:00pm with viewing from 9:00am at the Elgin Auction Centre and online bidding is available on saleroom.com.
