Office Administrator

Aberdeen & Northern Marts are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised Office Administrator to join our busy team at Thainstone. 

Who we are

ANM Group, one of Scotland’s leading co-operatives, based at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie – agri-hub for the North East of Scotland – plays a major part in Scotland’s economy.  It is one of the most modern and busiest auction centres in Europe, extends to 400 acres, and hosts weekly auctions of livestock, vehicles, and machinery.

The role

This role offers a variety of duties within the Main Office at Thainstone.  The main tasks include providing comprehensive administrative support to the sales and auction teams, online auction support, clerking assistance to the auctioneers as well as dealing with customers queries, particularly during busy sales days.  The start and finish times on sale days will be dictated by sale type, the time of year as well as the general needs of the business. This is a full-time role where a flexible attitude to work is required. 

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate should:

  • possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • be able to work on own initiative yet also be a team player
  • be organised and have a good attention to detail
  • offer an excellent working knowledge of all MS packages, particularly word and excel

A knowledge of the farming industry would be advantageous but is not essential.
