Major expansion for North-East business park’s first tenant

An Inverurie autobody centre is poised for expansion just months after taking up residence in the area’s newest business park.

In late 2022, Inverurie Paint & Body Repair Centre was unveiled as the milestone first tenant to occupy premises extending to almost 2,500 square feet at Thainstone Business Park.  Now, the company has just secured another 1,500 square feet of adjacent space which will act as a further springboard towards the ambitious company fulfilling its growth plans.

The additional space will be used to expand the company’s insurance approved repair area due to overwhelming demand for high quality bodywork services at the Inverurie site.

Thainstone Business Park is a collaboration between leading member-owned co-operative ANM Group and family-owned commercial property developers GSS Developments Ltd (GSS).  Its creation is a major boon for the local economy and consolidates the area’s premier position in attracting new businesses from Aberdeen City, the Shire and beyond.

ANM Group Executive Avril McLeod said: “We are delighted that Thainstone Business Park is proving to be the ideal location in which Inverurie Paint & Body Repair Centre can flourish and we hope that other businesses will follow suit in putting down roots in the heart of Aberdeenshire’s thriving economy.”

Commenting on the expansion, businessman Sam Murray, Director of Inverurie Paint & Body Repair Centre said: “The expansion of our successful Aberdeen-based business into Inverurie has accelerated growth for us, and this has quickly brought about the need for more space.  The opportunity to grow into adjacent space is ideal and allows us to further maximise our location in the thriving Inverurie area and close to the A96.”

GSS Developments’ Director Tim Stevenson commented: “The partnership approach we have adopted with ANM Group has brought modern, high specification premises within reach of a broad range of businesses seeking to expand their horizons and we are pleased at the level of interest shown to date.”

Paul Richardson of marketing agents Ryden added: “A prime location and transport links which are second to none make Thainstone Business Park a very attractive proposition for a range of tenants and it is good to see the positive impact this is already having on Inverurie Paint & Body Repair Centre.”

The 65-acre business park is located just 15 miles from Aberdeen city centre and the first phase of development  features six, high quality industrial units with broad appeal to potential occupiers including oil and gas, storage and distribution, and trade counter operations. Strong interest continues in the 1,500 to 2,500 sq. ft. premises and wider design and build opportunities with excellent links to transport infrastructure, including immediate access to the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness route.
