ANM Beyond 150 Conference to produce recommendations on securing a prosperous future for Scottish agriculture

ANM Group, the leading farming co-operative based at Thainstone, is to host a one-off conference in its 150th anniversary year to discuss the future of agriculture in the face of climate change.

The ANM Beyond 150 Conference, to be held in partnership with Farm North East on Friday 15 July, will hear from a panel of well-known industry voices and will invite contributions from all attendees on the steps which must be taken to secure a prosperous future for the Scottish livestock sector for another 150 years.

A major output from the Conference will be a paper which summarises the discussion, and suggests ideas and solutions for how Scottish agriculture can continue to produce a world-class product and safeguard the environment through climate actions and policy tools. ANM Group will present the paper to decision-makers after the event.

The event is open to the whole agricultural community, with all proceeds from the ticket sales going to ANM Group’s nominated charities for its 150th anniversary year – the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH), Charlie’s House, and Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation.

Grant Rogerson, Chief Executive of ANM Group said:

Our ANM Beyond 150 Campaign is celebrating the good work which Scottish agriculture is delivering now to protect our environment and our climate throughout the Group’s 150th anniversary year.

“It is a source of great pride that in the 150 years since ANM Group was established, we have grown to become one of the largest and most progressive producer-owned farming, food and finance co-operatives in Scotland. As we look ahead to the next 150 years, ANM Group will continue to support our members and the wider agricultural community to do what they do best, in a way which meets the climate challenge head-on.

“ANM Group is hugely excited to be bringing this important Conference to Thainstone. This one-off event will provide a forum to share ideas as to how our industry can build a prosperous future and safeguard our precious environment for generations to come.

“I encourage anybody who has an interest in these important themes to join us on 15 July, and to feed in their views.”
