Members owned co-operative, ANM Group is proud to announce that it has raised substantial funds throughout the year to help those in need over the festive period by donating beef to local charity Aberdeenshire North Foodbank.

Through various engaging and impactful events held throughout the year, The Group rallied its staff, customers, and supporters to contribute to the cause of alleviating food insecurity in our community.  Fundraising events included a charity dance-a-thon event, regular bake sales and generous donations including by local company Rapid Project Development. With funds raised the Group purchased cattle through their live auction ring at Thainstone Centre and with the kind and generous support of Forbes Raeburn Butcher, Huntly the beef was prepared into parcels which have been donated to Aberdeenshire North Foodbank. The parcels will help feed over 2,000 people over the festive period and those struggling into the new year.

Andrew Ruck, Interim Chair of Aberdeenshire North Foodbank said “It’s wonderful at this time of year, to receive further practical help from ANM Group and local food businesses here in Aberdeenshire. We’d like to thank ANM Group, Rapid Project Development and Forbes Raeburn Butcher, Huntly for the support they are continuing to provide to local initiatives and the people using our food banks in Aberdeenshire, during some of the most difficult periods of their lives.”

ANM Group, Chief Executive, Grant Rogerson, said “The festive period can be a tough time for some which is why we are delighted to have been able to make a meaningful impact in the fight against hunger in our community.  We supported those in need in the best way we know how, by raising funds and purchasing cattle through our auction sale ring here at Thainstone. A huge thanks to all those who made donations and a special thanks Gary Raeburn and his team, as well as RPD for their generous support towards the initiative.”

The beef parcels will directly benefit the essential work of Aberdeenshire North Foodbank, supported by the Trussell Trust, who operate and run five food banks across the North East including pick up and drop off points in Inverurie, Ellon, Huntly, Fraserburgh and Peterhead. On a mission to combat poverty and hunger the foodbanks efforts are important in providing nutritious food to individuals and families in need.
