ANM Group, one of Scotland’s largest member-owned co-operatives, has announced the appointment of David Duguid as a Non-Executive Director.
The appointment follows an extensive recruitment process to further strengthen the Board and support the Group’s long-term direction, ensuring it continues to provide good governance and strategic direction for the benefit of members.
David brings extensive commercial and public sector experience to the role. He spent 25 years in the energy industry, holding technical, operational and commercial positions, before serving as the Member of Parliament for Banff & Buchan. During his time in Parliament, he served as a Government Minister and held positions on Parliamentary Select and Bill Committees. Across his career, David has developed significant expertise in strategic planning, financial oversight, risk management and organisational governance.
Raised on his family’s farm in the North East of Scotland, David also has a strong understanding of the agricultural sector, and the important role ANM Group plays in supporting its members, livestock markets, and the wider rural economy.

Commenting on his appointment, David Duguid said, “I am delighted to be joining the Board of ANM Group at such an important time for the business. Having grown up on a family farm and spent my career working across both industry and public service, I understand the important role ANM plays for its members, the agricultural industry and rural communities.
I look forward to working with my fellow Board members and the executive team to build on ANM Group’s strong foundations and support its continued success for the benefit of its members and customers.”
Grant Rogerson, Chief Executive of ANM Group, said, “We are delighted to welcome David to the Board. He brings a combination of commercial, public sector and agricultural experience that will complement the breadth of skills and experience already across ANM. We look forward to working with David as we continue to develop the business for the long-term benefit of our members and customers.
The appointment follows the Board changes announced at the Group’s Annual General Meeting in April, which saw Stuart Stephen take on the role of Chairman.
