A message from Chief Executive, Grant Rogerson – COVID-19 how we’re responding

First and foremost, I want to extend our best wishes to all our members and customers during this turbulent time, and to reassure you that your wellbeing and that of our employees will be at the forefront of everything we do.

The situation with Coronavirus is changing rapidly. It seems almost daily that we have new advice and we are continuously reviewing and monitoring developments. Our centres remain open and operational, supported by staff both on the ground and working remotely.

Following the outbreak of the Coronavirus, as a business we have been working on plans to minimise the risks to our staff, customers and to friends and visitors who regularly attend our premises.

These include:

• Only those who are conducting business should come to the mart
• When in the mart strict hand hygiene procedures are in force in addition to maintaining a sensible distance between customers and staff
• An enhanced cleaning regime
• Our staff will restrict contact with customers if customers have experienced any Coronavirus symptoms, have come into contact with a positive COVID-19 case or visited a high risk area during the previous 14 days
• Where possible postponing non-essential visits and meetings
• Staff members are working from home where possible
• Staff members will self-isolate for 14 days if either they or a close family member has experienced COVID-19 symptoms

Our priority remains to protect the health and wellbeing of our employees and our customers and we are working hard to provide as safe an environment as possible and ensure that our business continues to provide the service you expect from us. Therefore, you will see changes that we have made in enhancing processes, from the way that we make contact with you to stringent hygiene practices that have been put in place, and we believe these changes are necessary in these current unprecedented circumstances.

We are also extremely aware of our social responsibility and the importance of the mart as a social hub for many of our members and customers and we will keep in touch, whilst also encouraging those of you who can’t get out and about to keep in contact with your own auctioneer or fieldsman.
