Aberdeen & Northern Marts are looking to recruit a part-time General Auction Support to join the Elgin Auction Centre team.

The Elgin auction centre is renowned as a leading furniture and antiques saleroom in the North East of Scotland, hosting weekly furniture and quarterly antiques sales.  We are a long- established business, with an experienced team and a UK-wide reputation regularly attracting many buyers and bidders to our sales.

The role

The General Auction Assistant will provide support for all furniture and antique sales.  Duties include sorting, photographing and logging, and setting the items out for sale, parcelling items post sale, and dealing with enquiries from the public. Lifting and moving of sale items will be required

This is a part-time role with the core hours of work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 10 – 2pm. 

Skills and experience:

  • good IT skills
  • strong attention to detail
  • competent in general administration
  • good levels of accuracy
  • good customer services skills
  • personable and proactive with a “can do” attitude
