STORE CATTLE - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (10th August) sold 174 store cattle and 11 young calves

Bullocks (118) averaged 200.5p to 233.9p per kg for a 342kg Limousin cross from Keiss Mains, Keiss and £1,350 gross for a 660kg Charolais cross from Kedron, Garlogie.
Heifers (54) averaged 184.7p to 212p per kg for a 250kg Charolais cross from Cairntack, Belhelvie and £870 gross for a 452kg Charolais cross from Slickly, Lyth.
Bulls (two) averaged 149p to 174.2p per kg for a 396kg Simmental cross from Bridgend, Longside and £910 gross for a 678kg Simmental cross from Clayhills, Longside.
Young and weaned calves (11) sold to £440 gross.

"Quality cattle dearer".

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (10th August) sold 71 head of adult breeding cattle including two bulls.

“A mixed selection tended to be easier.”

SHEEP - FULL REPORT

THAINSTONE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (10th August) sold 774 breeding sheep, store lambs and feeding ewes and rams.

New Season Store Lambs (55) to £152 for a Texel Ram Lamb from Oldtown, Peterculter.
Feeding ewes and rams (715) averaged £62.55 (-8.49) to £145 for Zwartbles from Clochtow, Collieston.

“Store lambs met a sound trade. A mixed show of feeders sold to similar rates.”
