New Sponsor Announced For Aberdeen Christmas Classic

Aberdeen & Northern Marts and the Aberdeen Fatstock Association are delighted to announce that Chartered Accountants Johnston Carmichael are to be the new main sponsors of the Aberdeen Christmas Classic, Scotland’s leading two-day winter agricultural event.

Johnston Carmichael, Scotland’s leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants and business advisers, has agreed a three-year deal to sponsor the Classic, which is held at the Thainstone Centre, Inverurie.

The Aberdeen Christmas Classic is regarded as one of the leading prime stock shows in the British farming calendar with entries from all over Scotland and attracting buyers from across the UK.

Sandy Manson, the chief executive of Johnston Carmichael, said: “We are delighted to be supporting this key event which does so much to showcase the outstanding quality of Scotland’s livestock and the young farmers’ competition encourages the development of our future farmers. 

“Agriculture plays a key part in Johnston Carmichael’s client base throughout Scotland and we are continuing to grow and develop our specialist agricultural industry group across the firm.”

The president of the Aberdeen Fatstock Association, Stuart Connon, Skilmafilly, Auchnagatt, welcomed the sponsorship agreement and said: “This underlines the importance of the Classic as the leading two-day winter farming event in Scotland.”

John Gregor, the general manager of Aberdeen & Northern Marts, said: “We are delighted to link up with Johnston Carmichael in what will be the 20th anniversary year of the Aberdeen Christmas Classic.

“This event has an unrivalled UK-wide reputation for the excellence of the livestock on show and this three-year deal with Johnston Carmichael will help underpin that status.”

This year’s Classic will be held on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th December. The event incorporates a series of shows and sales of prime and pedigree cattle, sheep and pigs. There is also a highly popular young farmers’ competition.John Gregor with Sandy Manson and Stuart Connon
