Huntly farmer Angus Greenlaw won the overall championship at the Aberdeen & Northern Marts commercial beef breeding cattle show and sale at the Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, on Tuesday 8th May 2012.
Angus, of Sheep Park, Bridge of Marnoch, took the title with a three-year-old Simmental cross heifer with a Limousin cross heifer at foot. He was presented with his champion trophy by Dr Lorna Masson of the show sponsors East Coast Viners Grain.
Angus was also presented with a trophy for the same entry by Neil Shand of the British Simmental Cattle Society for the champion Simmental sired heifer. His double winner sold for £3,400 to the show judge Ian Spence, Leys Castle, Inverness.
Reserve champion was Keith Stewart, Cocklarachy, Huntly, with a 32-month-old Limousin cross heifer and a Limousin cross heifer calf, which sold for £3,100 to Ballechin Farms, Ballinluig, Pitlochry.
The other prize winners and their prices were:
Simmental sired heifer with male calf - 1st - W & M Ewing, South Blachrie £2,900; 2nd - I & M Keith, Auchtygall £3,250; 3rd - W & M Ewing, South Blachrie £2,950.
Simmental sired heifer with heifer calf - 1st & Overall Champion - Sheep Park Farms £3,400; 2nd - Ardhuncart Farms £2,650; 3rd - I & M Keith, Auchtygall £3,550.
Limousin sired heifer with male calf - 1st -J A Cruickshank, Coleburn £3,200; 2nd - Emslies Livestock Ltd, Kinknockie £2,800; 3rd - Sheep Park Farms £2,750.
Limousin sired heifer with heifer calf - 1st - K Stewart & Sons, Cocklarachy £3,100; 2nd - Sheep Park Farms £3,000; 3rd - K Stewart & Sons, Cocklarachy £2,600.
Any other breed sired heifer with male calf - 1st - I & M Keith, Auchtygall £2,600.
Any other breed sired heifer with heifer calf - 1st - Messrs S McDonald, Cranna, Rothienorman £1,520.
